It is good to see that working from home can provide a grander backdrop than this place. My hon. Friend is right to welcome the shared rural network. The roll-out has already started to benefit a large number of constituencies. It began in Wales and we will be talking in the coming weeks about where it is going to benefit in coming years.

Joining CPTPP now will benefit businesses through ambitious rules supporting digital trade and reduced tariffs on UK exports, building back better and building more opportunities for businesses, supporting jobs in constituencies such as Wakefield.

The Government have taken several important steps to ensure women are able to access the sanitary products they need. From 1 January 2021 the tampon tax has been abolished, with a zero rate of VAT applied to women's sanitary products coming into effect. The Department for Education is leading a scheme to provide access to free period products in schools and colleges in England, NHS England announced in March 2019 that it will offer free period products to every hospital patient who needs them, including long-term patients, and the Home Office has changed the law to ensure that all people in custody are provided with free health and hygiene products, including period products.

My hon. Friend is a tireless champion for Wakefield. A bypass for Denby Dale would be a matter for the local highways authority—in this case, Kirklees Council—to consider, but it is something it could consider as a bid into the Government's recently announced £4.8 billion levelling up fund, which has improving local transport connectivity as one of its top priorities.

My hon. Friend raises an important matter. We have asked Sir Kevan Collins to look across a full and broad range of ways of giving children a boost, not just to catch up on any learning that they have lost but more fundamentally, to make major changes to how we drive educational attainment over a generation and more. All of this is something that Sir Kevan will look at.

The CCRC is close to achieving a target of 36 weeks as average time for dealing with a case, with 85% of cases resolved within 12 months. Recent investments include significant funding to improve IT systems.

My hon. Friend is right to highlight the challenges faced by his constituents, with 14,500 benefiting from the furlough scheme and £28.4 million in business grants provided. The Minister assured that Treasury Ministers will use rigorous analysis as they work with the Chancellor towards the next Budget.

The Government have provided significant support to those on low incomes, including an additional £9 billion through welfare increases and local authority hardship funding. Specific measures include increasing universal credit and working tax credit by £20 per week, as well as providing £500 payments for households who must self-isolate.

I reassure my hon. Friend that the raison d'être of the merger is to bring together our aid clout and heft with our diplomatic reach and muscle. If he looks at the visit I made to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, he will see the support we provided for the Palestinians in dealing with covid alongside our diplomatic support for a two-state solution.

There is significant support available for hospices with £200 million of the £750 million ring-fenced specifically for hospices. Local charities can access the £200 million coronavirus community support fund, and reopening charity shops from 15 June will allow fundraising to start getting back to normal.

Charities and civil society are playing a pivotal role in the response to coronavirus, with a package of support worth £750 million announced. This includes no business rates for shops this year and furloughing staff where possible. The aim is to prevent unnecessary closures, keep vital services open, and provide a basis to continue their contribution to the national effort.
