Florence Eshalomi congratulated Hoare and acknowledged the issues raised. She assured the House that the Government is committed to enhancing provisions and choice for older people's housing, including increasing the supply of homes and improving residents' experience. She highlighted the importance of good managing agents and the need to address poor and unscrupulous agents. She mentioned that the Government is considering Lord Best's report on regulating managing agents and plans to introduce a code of practice for residential property agents. She also committed to consulting on the introduction of qualifications for estate and letting agents next year. She promised to forward Hoare's concerns to the Housing Minister and to push for timely action on the section 20 consultation. She emphasised the emotional, physical, and mental impact on vulnerable residents and thanked all Members for engaging with the issue.
