The Government is committed to safer roads and has increased penalties in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. We will create a new offence of causing serious injury by careless driving and increase minimum disqualification periods from two years to five for certain offences.

I absolutely agree and congratulate the hon. Lady on her efforts. We are bringing forward changes to put victims first, including new offences and increased penalties.
