Context
Ella Hampson, a year 10 home-educated student, was due to take several GCSEs early but missed out on estimated grades and autumn examinations.
What steps is his Department taking to allocate grades to home-educated students who were unable to take public examinations as a result of the covid-19 outbreak? Ella Hampson, my constituent, has been left without a grade and cannot progress to college. She was due to sit GCSEs early but missed out on estimated grades and autumn exams due to her age.
Private candidates who were entered for the summer series or where the school intended to enter them for the summer are eligible to enter the autumn series. The candidate's age is not relevant; we expect schools and colleges that entered students for the summer series to do so again in the autumn.
