Context
The Government passed the Terrorist Offenders Act in February to change early release rules for terrorist offenders. The Counter-Terrorism and Sentencing Bill is set for Report and Third Reading next week.
What steps has his Department taken to increase prison sentences for terror offences? Does my hon. Friend agree that limited use of terrorism prevention and investigation measures, as amended by the upcoming Bill, will help keep constituents safe from terror attacks?
In Committee, we heard compelling evidence from Assistant Chief Constable Tim Jacques that changes to TPIMs will make constituents safer. I hope Members will consider this evidence when they review the Bill next week.
