Context
The hormone pregnancy drug Primodos was taken by around 1.5 million women in the '60s and '70s, leading to birth defects, miscarriage and stillbirth.
What recent representations has the Minister received on people affected by the hormone pregnancy drug, Primodos? Can she confirm that if it is merited, she is open to establishing a comprehensive public inquiry following the publication of Baroness Cumberlege's review?
Baroness Cumberlege's independent medicines and medical devices safety review is examining what happened in the case of Primodos and will determine what further action is required. Ministers will consider any recommendations very carefully, but we do not have a date for the publication of the review yet.
