A free breakfast club will open in my constituency this April. However, Rochdale's growing popularity and population mean it desperately needs a new secondary school for mainstream and SEND children. Will you arrange for me to meet with DfE to get our secondary school over the line?

My hon. Friend articulates the position incredibly well. This is an emergency, as I said. We have seen in the last few weeks how it affects our transport system, education, and health. The UK Health Security Agency estimated there were 1,504 heat-associated deaths in England last summer, 1,311 in 2024, 2,295 in 2023, and 2,985 in 2022.

To celebrate Armed Forces Day this year in Rochdale, there will be not only the usual flag-raising ceremony at Rochdale town hall, but on Saturday 27 June we will have a free community picnic in Denehurst Park. Will the Minister join me in thanking Adam Trennery of Get Together After Serving for putting on this marvellous event and all the work he does to support our service people and veterans?

My constituent in Rochdale, Louise Marshall, wrote to me this weekend because she is worried sick about the massive price rise she is facing for heating oil. Can the Chancellor assure me, notwithstanding the meeting we are all going to have with the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, that we can be absolutely crystal clear that under this Government, we will not tolerate price gouging or war profiteering from oil companies that try to rip off their customers?

I absolutely agree with my hon. Friend. The price gouging that we see is totally unacceptable, which is why we have already asked the Competition and Markets Authority to look at this. Whether we are talking about petrol at the pumps or heating oil, there is no excuse for any business to use this as an opportunity to rip off customers.

The new maternal care bundle aims to reverse recent worrying rises in maternal death and ill health. Given that caesarean sections carry a risk of severe bleeding and placenta accreta, can NHS highlight these risks more effectively so women make informed choices about giving birth safely?

Everyone accessing maternity care should be offered a personalised care and support plan, informed by a personalised risk assessment. This is so women have more control over their own care based on what matters to them and their individual needs and preferences, as well as to ensure that every woman understands the risk factors that might arise in her case. A caesarean section is generally a very safe procedure but like any type of surgery it carries a risk of complications. All women should have the confidence of knowing that the doctors and midwives dealing with them are robustly trained to deal with severe complications, including haemorrhage.

I was pleased to see Conwy recently selected for this UK Government's Pride in Place programme. That is alongside the existing funds for Rhyl and Wrexham. Given the north-west’s strong economic and family ties to north Wales, I was proud to secure £20 million for Rochdale through the Pride in Place programme. Can the Secretary of State update the House on the difference that these growth funds and other funds will make to economic development in the region?

The introduction of the Pride in Place programme has meant good news for Rochdale, as well as for Wales. A total of 14 communities across Wales are each benefiting from £20 million of long-term investment to enable the changes that they want to see in their neighbourhoods. This hyper-local programme will benefit areas that are doubly disadvantaged, having both the highest deprivation levels and the weakest social infrastructure. It is about investing for the long term, and creating safer, stronger and more resilient communities with the facilities and infrastructure that they need to thrive.

I am delighted that thanks to this Government and the warm home discount eligibility extension, thousands more Rochdale families will be eligible for £150 off their bills this winter. It will ensure that young and old alike get more help with their bills this winter. I would like to raise the case of my constituent Keith Gumbridge, who had his cavity wall insulation botched under the previous Government, and who was left with huge legal bills after so-called “no win, no fee” law firm Pure Legal went bust. Mr Gumbridge’s case has been with the Legal Ombudsman for nearly three years; does the Minister agree that that is far too long to wait for justice?

I am concerned about the increase in the tax gap and the dismissal of the former Chancellor due to a tax inquiry. I welcome the Treasury's efforts to combat tax avoidance. Will my hon. Friend agree that Labour's prudent approach will demonstrate its commitment by using these recovered taxes to fund our child poverty strategy this summer?

Rochdale council has removed 6,500 fly-tips this past year alone, equivalent to 50 tonnes of illegally dumped waste every month at a cost of £400,000 to local taxpayers. But my council tells me that there is a real failure in the courts issuing consistent and tough enough fines. Does the Minister agree with me that it is time to crack down harder on fly-tippers, put much tighter regulations on waste carriers and treat the fly-tippers like the criminals they are by crushing their cars and putting points on their licences?

I was in Israel on the west bank last week, and two things became instantly clear. There was widespread revulsion at the sickening desecration of the bodies of Israeli hostages by Hamas, but also there was widespread fear among Palestinians who have first-hand experience of their children having stones thrown at them by settlers, their neighbours’ cars torched and their own windscreens smashed every night. Will the Minister reassure us that those extremist settlers will be dealt with really thoroughly in our foreign policy?
