On 1 July, Warwickshire county council will permanently remove one of Nuneaton’s two fire engines. Its decision, based on dubious data that does not account for local factors such as high deprivation, does not accurately represent the current risk to residents. The cuts will put lives in Nuneaton in danger. Will the Deputy Prime Minister please look into this matter to confirm that there has been sufficient scrutiny and a thorough risk analysis to ensure safety for the good residents of Nuneaton?

Mr Speaker, I wish you a happy Warwickshire day and a happy St George's day. Nuneaton residents are concerned about the performance of Capita since it took over the civil service pensions. These concerns are shared across the House as we have just heard some horror stories coming into many inboxes. Those residents will therefore be surprised to see that the Government have recently agreed a £900 million, 1 10-year deal for the same company to take over the civil service payroll contract under the Synergy programme. Does my hon. Friend agree with me that maintaining current insourcing is the only way to ensure value for taxpayers' money and a decent level of service for residents?
Context

This Labour Government are ending the age of outsourcing. A public interest test will require all Departments to assess whether a service can be better delivered in-house. Departments must publish insourcing strategies setting out how they will make greater insourcing a reality over the medium term.

Reviving the disused Stockingford railway station on the Birmingham to Leicester line could be transformational for teams, fans and residents of Stockingford and Camp Hill, and could give a huge boost to local growth. What support can be offered, so that we can reopen the station and build on the business case from 2022?

If she will make an assessment of the effectiveness of primary prevention measures in schools in tackling violence against women and girls. We know that sexual violence is a critical problem in our schools. In 2021, in response to Ofsted's rapid review, 92% of girls and 74% of boys said that sexist names were used “sometimes” or “a lot”. Harassment of this kind has become commonplace in educational settings, and harmful sexual practices are becoming a risk. Will the Minister meet me, and White Ribbon UK, to discuss how primary prevention measures can be introduced into school curriculums to tackle violence against women and girls?

Education has a role to play in the prevention of violence against women and girls, and it is essential to the Government's safer streets mission. We are reviewing the relationship, sex and health education guidance to ensure that it enables schools to tackle harmful behaviour, because we are determined to ensure that misogyny is stamped out and not allowed to proliferate in schools. I would be more than happy to meet my hon. Friend to discuss that issue further. She brings real expertise from her background in education, and it is essential that we do more to tackle the behaviour that she has identified. Independent providers of NHS services must hold an NHS provider licence unless exempt. Licensed providers of hard-to-replace services are subject to financial and risk-based quality governance oversight to safeguard patient continuity. The Cabinet Office monitors strategic suppliers actively and puts in place contingency plans where there is risk of distress. We are supported by UK Government Investments with experience in corporate finance.

The UK Government have been absolutely determined to work with our key partners on these questions. My Department has also focused on ensuring support for what is often called upstream migration—the drivers of the reasons why people feel they have to leave their home country or region in the first place. That has included, for example, support to help refugees in Jordan to stay in the region from which they come and support for the UN's migration multi-partner trust fund.
