Independent domestic violence advisers help victims every step of the way. A pilot program launching next month will introduce domestic abuse protection orders allowing police or victims to seek court-ordered protections against perpetrators.

The DWP is committed to becoming a trauma-informed organisation, and we are working with the Health and Safety Executive and the Department of Health and Social Care on supporting the suicide prevention strategy for England. The first phase of mental health guidance has been revised to include text emphasising parity of risks.

Faith is a vital part of people's identities and communities. My hon. Friend is a great advocate for work around faith. The Minister encourages people to attend the event, and he will do everything possible to pop in himself.

The Government's Victims and Prisoners Bill aims to improve the public's and victims' confidence in the criminal justice system by placing the principles of the victims code onto the face of the Bill. This ensures what victims can expect from the criminal justice system.

The successful delivery of the pledge to recruit 20,000 additional police officers is contributing positively by increasing investigations and charges and bringing more offenders to justice in courts.

Our veterans are very important. The Government have been on the right track in delivering a great place for veterans. We agree with many parts of Government to support the armed forces covenant and we are going from strength to strength.

Through our successful county lines programme the police have arrested thousands of individuals and closed down 2,900 county lines. My hon. Friend is absolutely right. He will have heard what the Prime Minister said about the five pledges, one of which is to end the small boats coming across illegally. I mentioned what we are doing with the Home Office to get the backlog down in the immigration tribunal. My hon. Friend will know about the Nationality and Borders Act 2022, and the Home Secretary and the Prime Minister have also talked about further measures being brought forward shortly.

We are committed to ensuring faster throughput in immigration and asylum tribunals to support the Government's priority to combat dangerous small boats crossing the channel.

I thank my hon. Friend for his question and for taking part in the dawn raid. The police covenant board is designed to help with mental health pressures faced by police officers, and a new chief medical officer position has been instituted to look after serving and retired police officers.

I thank my hon. Friend for all his work in this space. I reassure him that, to increase the uptake of STEM education by women and girls, we are funding programmes such as the advanced mathematics support programme, the advanced maths premium, the stimulating physics network and the inclusion in schools programme. We have seen a 50% increase in the number of women taking higher education STEM courses since 2011.

I know that my colleagues will join me in paying tribute to my hon. Friend for the time that he spends helping small businesses. As he says, the Government must lead by example on prompt payment. They are committed to paying 90% of valid invoices within five days and 100% within 30 days, which is absolutely right, and the Cabinet Office's Procurement Bill will ensure that that happens throughout the public sector.

My hon. Friend is a great champion for businesses throughout his constituency of Watford, and they will want to seize the benefits of new trade deals, including with the Gulf Co-operation Council, a group of six countries that want to trade more with the United Kingdom. The GCC is already equivalent to the fourth largest trading partner with Britain, with total trade worth more than £33 billion last year. We are going to boost the economy even further to create jobs, increase wages and support levelling up throughout our country.

My hon. Friend is right. The Government seeks trade deals with countries such as those in the comprehensive and progressive trans-Pacific partnership, Gulf, India, Canada, and others, focusing on SME chapters and preferences within them.

Between 2021 and 2023, the Department is providing more than £2 million to organisations, including the Diana Award, to support schools to tackle bullying.

I have been relentlessly focused on this area, allocating £15 million to student mental health services to support the transition from school to university via the Office for Students. I held a summit with the Minister for Care and Mental Health investing £3 million in bridging the gaps between NHS and university services.

I agree with my hon. Friend, and I know he is a great champion of net zero policies. The Prime Minister has outlined that a balanced approach to energy is crucial, highlighting both North Sea oil and gas as well as renewables can guarantee a secure energy supply without relying on foreign imports.

The Government's net zero strategy outlines a comprehensive set of measures to transition to a green and sustainable future, supporting hundreds of thousands of well-paid jobs and leveraging up to £90 billion of private investment by 2030 across the entire United Kingdom, including Scotland. All previously licensed fields such as Cambo are accounted for in projected production and estimated emissions.

We are committed to lifelong learning: for five years after people leave the services, they can apply for and get support to retrain. It is a great opportunity for our service personnel.

My hon. Friend and I have spoken about that on a number of occasions—as have I with you, Mr Speaker. He will appreciate that I am unable to comment on the specific local plans because of my quasi-judicial role. However, he is right to say that housing targets are only a starting point. All local plans are subject to an independent examination. Following consultation with the local community, anyone who wants to make representations to change a plan must be heard by the inspector.

The Government has announced a £750 million funding package to support frontline charities during the pandemic, unlocking an additional £150 million from dormant accounts. Furthermore, there are measures such as the coronavirus job retention scheme to help these organizations.

Since 2010, there has been a 31% increase in girls' entries to science, technology, engineering and maths A-levels in England, and a 34% increase in the number of women accepted on to full-time STEM undergraduate courses in the UK. Increasing the number of women in STEM industries is vital for our country's economic success and also for equality of opportunity.

Absolutely. I am pleased to say that in the last week we have announced that we are considering whether new legislation is required to provide additional reassurance when terrorist offenders are released from prison. A range of measures are available, including stringent conditions during post-release licence periods and notification requirements for terrorist offenders, which the Government strengthened only last year. Serious crime prevention orders were extended to terrorist offenders last year. Alongside terrorism prevention and investigation measures, these orders provide the police with strengthened powers to manage terrorists on their release. We will continue to review everything to ensure that we are doing all we can to keep the public safe.
