The MP acknowledged the growing population of Milton Keynes, noting that it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the UK and has high demand for healthcare infrastructure. He highlighted significant investments made by the government, including community diagnostic centres with £2.3 billion funding, which have delivered over 6 million tests, checks, and scans. The Maple Centre was also praised for its impact on reducing hospital pressures and providing same-day emergency care, treating over 20,000 patients in its first year. Everitt welcomed the government's urgent and emergency care plan with an investment of £1 billion to deliver more hospital beds, including a new 22-bed ward at Milton Keynes University Hospital. The MP also emphasised the importance of the new women and children’s hospital as part of the New Hospital Programme, which will increase surgical capacity and utilise advanced technological developments for better efficiency and care.
