Ms McDonagh moved a bill to set targets for clinical trials on glioblastoma, require training for medical oncologists in brain cancers, mandate the trialling of tumour drugs on brain tumours, provide requirements for neuro-oncology multidisciplinary teams and drug availability for clinical trials. She emphasised the current bleak landscape with low survival rates and lack of progress, yet expressed hope after discussions with experts, citing a potential cure within 10 years if new measures are taken.
