Government Response
The Minister thanked the MP for Bracknell for securing the debate and noted that if just 1% of cadets a year benefit from employment, education or training due to their cadet experience, it would cover the annual costs of the cadet forces. The Minister also highlighted his visit to the constituency where he met with young cadets who asked difficult questions. Ensuring continued funding for cadets, broadening out funding to state schools and disadvantaged areas. Cadet funding stabilised after decreasing due to covid from 2019-24. Reviewing cadets in the strategic defence review with more to follow.

About Westminster Hall Debates
Westminster Hall debates are a chance for MPs to raise important issues affecting their constituents and get a response from a government minister. Unlike Prime Minister's Questions, these debates are more in-depth and collaborative. The MP who secured the debate speaks first, other MPs can contribute, and a minister responds with the government's position.
