Opened the debate
MND is a devastating and untimely disease, with six people dying of it daily in the UK. The MND Association estimates that a third of those diagnosed die within one year. Following meetings with campaigners and the Business Secretary, the Government pledged to invest £50 million but failed to deliver on this promise for over 12 months.

About Westminster Hall Debates

Westminster Hall debates are a chance for MPs to raise important issues affecting their constituents and get a response from a government minister. Unlike Prime Minister's Questions, these debates are more in-depth and collaborative. The MP who secured the debate speaks first, other MPs can contribute, and a minister responds with the government's position.
