The Government is integrating the Traineeship programme into existing education provisions from August 2023.

Action Requested

The Department for Education will no longer fund Traineeships through a standalone national programme but will continue funding their elements within other programmes. Local authorities and mayoral combined authorities will have more flexibility to design tailored support based on local needs.
