Action Requested

A short review is being undertaken to assess the quality of qualifications, support T Level growth, and ensure high-quality options for young people. The re-contracting of T Levels will also proceed where necessary, and defunding decisions will be made after reviewing planned reforms. A list of level 2 qualifications that will be funded from August 2025 will be published soon.

  • Review of post-16 qualification reforms at Level 3 and below.
  • T Levels re-contracting to continue availability.
  • Pause on removal of funding for certain qualifications until the review concludes.
  • Review outcomes to be communicated before the turn of the year.
  • Expert-led Curriculum and Assessment Review chaired by Professor Becky Francis CBE.
  • New T Level developments rolling out in 2024 and 2025.
