I want to thank Save Stroud Lido, the Friends of Stratford Park Lido and the whole community for their work. The Minister for sport will be delighted to meet him. Reversing the neglect of lidos is a priority. We will say more about supporting lidos shortly, recognising the funding pressures they face, including energy costs.

My hon. Friend makes a compelling case. While I do not wish to pre-empt any announcement, I will say that the Government recognise the need to support communities with funding pressures, including energy costs, and we will have more to say shortly.

A passionate group in Winchester has campaigned for a lido to be built in the old leisure centre. They support the proposal for a lido in the old leisure centre, which would benefit physical and mental health.
There is a very passionate group of people in Winchester who have long campaigned for a lido to be built in the old leisure centre. They are very excited that one of the proposals is a lido. Could the Minister explain what support is available for such facilities, which get people outside, exercising and being part of the community, which is good for physical and mental health?
The hon. Gentleman will have heard the Minister for sport talk about the £400 million being put into grassroots sports facilities. We are planning to make a forthcoming announcement specifically around lidos. I congratulate the hon. Gentleman's community on defending and supporting leisure facilities. Most lidos exist because of people like his constituents, who care for them and have supported them to stay open for many years.
