What recent representations has he received from businesses on the implementation of the Northern Ireland protocol? Many business sectors in Northern Ireland are extremely concerned about the challenges for their individual areas. I urge the team over the summer to work as hard as possible to ensure sector-specific approaches to implementation so that we do not just go for a one-size-fits-all policy.
We continue to engage intensively with business as we take forward our implementation work, including the important work of the business engagement forum which has met seven times. Departments across Whitehall will liaise with individual sectors. We will bring forward guidance on the protocol for traders in the next few weeks setting out details of extensive end-to-end support.
