The issue of people getting on the property ladder is particularly pressing in South Cambridgeshire due to high property prices.
What steps are being taken to help people get on the housing ladder? The First Homes initiative, which provides a 30% discount for local first-time buyers, is welcomed but will it boost new home supply or primarily change existing affordable housing tenure?
We hope it will do both. It will increase the supply of new homes by building popular support for new developments, but I completely accept that the housing challenges we face as a country are primarily supply-side.
