Context
Discussions on cooperation during the pandemic are ongoing between different parts of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
What discussions has the Secretary of State had with his counterparts from the devolved Administrations, other UK administrations, and the Irish Government to facilitate co-operation and mutual aid during the covid-19 outbreak? Are there any potential difficulties regarding contact tracing apps developed by different jurisdictions?
We are working closely to ensure continued cooperation. The contact tracing app aims to be part of a sensible exit strategy from the pandemic, and I have been in conversations with the Irish Government and the Northern Ireland Executive to align our experts and chief medical officers for a joined-up approach.
