Q1 Direct Answer
Robert Halfon Con
Southend West
Context
Discusses the significant impact of school closures on vulnerable children, highlighting issues such as domestic abuse and mental health.
As nearly 90% of vulnerable children are not in school or learning, and there are new vulnerabilities like domestic abuse and mental health issues, what additional work is being done with the Department for Education to help these children learn and provide their families with financial support?
We are committed to protecting vulnerable children, especially during this time, by investing an extra £6.5 billion in our welfare system. I have been working with the Minister for children and families, my hon. Friend Vicky Ford, among others, and am willing to collaborate further with Robert Halfon on ways to support these children better.
