Rail operators are facing financial difficulties due to decreased ridership, raising concerns about passenger refunds.
It is crucial that people who avoid public transport do not end up financially disadvantaged. Will my hon. Friend confirm that passengers in Morley and Outwood with advance tickets as well as season ticket holders will receive fee-free refunds for unused travel during the outbreak?
We have worked with the rail industry to extend refunds to all ticket types, waiving admin fees since 17 March. Advance tickets purchased before 23 March are eligible for fee-free refunds. Unused carnet tickets can be refunded or extended depending on the operator, and season tickets remain refundable without changing policy.
