Context
The UK is in a transitional period post-Brexit with concerns over the impact on legal frameworks.
What recent assessment has been made regarding the effect of Brexit on (a) legal protections on human rights and (b) the rule of law?
The UK has always prioritised rights and liberties domestically and upholds its international obligations. Post-Brexit, this stance remains unchanged; we will continue to champion human rights both nationally and internationally. The Human Rights Act was enacted in 1998 but the practice of protecting human rights predates it.
