The hon. Member is concerned about the impact of lower production standards on small farmers in her region.
As lockdown eases, many constituents enjoy Northumbrian and County Durham landscapes due to high-production standard farmers; why won't the Minister commit to not importing food with lower standards than British farmers meet?
The Secretary of State has already addressed this in detail; a range of measures are available to protect the hon. Member's farmers including existing regulations. There is transparency in trade negotiations with public scrutiny, and they will be put before the House before signing. Further consultations on labelling will take place by year-end.
