Analysis of gender disadvantages in the workplace and sector-specific action plans.
We are conducting analysis on where women face workplace disadvantages and are finalising sector-specific action plans. Government Departments are leading by example by publishing their data and action plans today, encouraging employers to create inclusive workplaces beyond reporting.
I cannot comment on individual cases but met BBC executives this week to discuss equal pay and the gender pay gap. We are clear that we need data over several years to see if our approach is working, whether we ask the right questions and if there are other questions to be asked. We hope the approach to larger businesses will trickle down to smaller ones.
