Context
Post-covid society relies more on reliable broadband internet, and the reserved nature of broadband and telecommunications has been a challenge.
Given the previous struggles with the reserved nature of broadband and telecommunications, does the Minister now accept that this is an area reserved to Westminster? Will he commit to matching the level of funding for Scotland that Northern Ireland has enjoyed recently?
We have put an additional £21 million into Scottish broadband, on top of the £101 million already invested in Scotland by the UK Government. We need to go as far and as fast as we possibly can to increase coverage and ensure that Scotland does not miss out on anything it needs.
