Context
UK Government support and involvement with the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
What steps her Department is taking to support the Rohingya in (a) Bangladesh and (b) Myanmar. The questioner also mentioned local charity efforts like Unite 4 Humanity and asked if the government would continue working with such organisations.
UK aid development work delivered through charities and other organisations will remain a priority, given Bangladesh's vulnerability to climate and man-made disasters. The excellent work of Peterborough-based Unite 4 Humanity is highlighted, alongside other charities that have stepped up to respond to the Rohingya crisis. The UK Government has launched a coronavirus appeal for vulnerable communities, including the Rohingya, in seven countries, with a matching funds offer from the government up to £5 million.
