Q1 Direct Answer
Paul Bristow Con
Great Yarmouth
Context
Hospices have been significantly impacted by the pandemic and require financial support to continue providing essential services.
What steps are being taken to support hospices during the COVID-19 outbreak, and when can local hospices such as Thorpe Hall expect to receive the £200 million funding?
We are providing up to £200 million to hospices over the next three months, funding has started to flow. For Sue Ryder, which runs one of Paul Bristow's local hospices, received £5.9 million in April. When it comes to future commissioning of palliative care after this crisis is over, we will need to learn lots and consider reforms based on what we have learned during this period.
