What plans he has for the allocation of the recently announced waking watch relief fund?
We expect that the £30 million fund will be open this month with the aim to start providing funding for the installation of alarms as quickly as possible. We will work with local authorities and fire and rescue services on delivery, and we expect to publish a prospectus with further information on eligibility criteria and evidence requirements.

Context
Leaseholders in Royal Quarter, Kingston have contacted Sarah Olney about their building assessed as having dangerous cladding but ineligible for the waking watch fund due to height restrictions. She questioned the government's commitment to funding the remediation of cladding on all buildings.
Will the Government commit to funding the remediation of cladding on all buildings as soon as possible, to ensure that they can be made safe and then claim the money back from those responsible?
In response to this challenge, we have focused specifically on buildings over 18 metres based on advice from Dame Judith Hackitt. We believe the £30 million available will help address waking watch challenges in many buildings. Developers and owners remain responsible for making their buildings safe and resolving defects.
Assessment & feedback
The specific commitment to fund remediation on all buildings regardless of height was not provided.
