The MP is concerned about the challenges faced by youth centres such as High Oak in Dudley due to insecure funding, despite high levels of young people not in education, employment or training.
Youth centres such as High Oak in Dudley, run by Angela Edwards, are finding it harder each year to stay open because of insecure funding. Despite Dudley having some of the highest levels of young people not in education, employment or training, more youth centres and secure long-term funding are desperately needed. What support can my right hon. Friend provide to these youth centres to ensure that the youth of today and of the future are supported?
We have put £500 million behind the national youth strategy, a major element of which will deliver the next generation of youth clubs and youth workers. The Youth Minister is happy to discuss further with my hon. Friend to ensure Dudley's young people are well served.
