What recent progress has been made on implementing the humble Address of 4 February 2026.

Answer from Darren Jones

As I have outlined previously, work is ongoing across Departments to identify the material relevant to the Humble Address. Q2 Gregory Stafford Con Farnham and Bordon
Context

The questioner asks about the process of appointing the head of the Government's propriety and ethics team, suggesting it may have been done without an external recruitment process or written ministerial sign-off, potentially in breach of rules.

Question

Can the Minister confirm whether the head of the Government's propriety and ethics team was appointed without an external recruitment process or written ministerial sign-off, in an apparent breach of its own rules? If so, is this further proof of a lack of transparency and accountability, and of a failure to uphold the propriety and ethics at the heart of this Government?

Answer from Darren Jones

No, and no.

Not addressed: The questioner's concerns about the lack of transparency and accountability were not addressed in any detail.
