Context

The question stems from ongoing concerns about delays and lack of clarity regarding the shared prosperity fund, which is essential for local authorities to plan their economic activities.

Question

Will he set out when the shared prosperity fund will be confirmed, when bidding dates will take place and when local government will receive the information needed to bid?

Answer from Simon Hart

In my conversations with 22 local authorities, they take a much more benign approach to the funding streams than the hon. Gentleman. He obsesses about the UK shared prosperity fund. We have been clear about when that is coming through, with further announcements this year and into next.

Partly answered

Not addressed: The answer avoided giving specific dates for the confirmation of the shared prosperity fund and did not provide detailed timelines.

Context

The question reflects continued frustration over the lack of information and delay in the delivery of the shared prosperity fund, which is vital for communities in Wales.

Question

When will we get the detail and dates so that needy communities across Wales can plan to spend the shared prosperity fund?

Answer from Simon Hart

I have repeated the answer to this question on countless occasions this morning. We are looking at a whole range of funding provisions in Wales. The Chancellor was able to provide a record settlement; this is the best settlement for the Welsh Government and local authorities for 20-plus years, and the hon. Gentleman should be acknowledging that.

Not addressed: The answer changed the subject entirely without addressing when communities would receive information or timelines to start planning for spending the shared prosperity fund.
