Context
Superfast broadband coverage in Dorset is at 96%, but there are still challenges, particularly in rural West Dorset. The Dorset Council has gathered two thirds of the necessary funding for the fibre spine project.
What progress has been made on rolling out fibre spine infrastructure in West Dorset? Dorset Council has worked hard to gather 2/3 of the money needed for the fibre spine, and the Chancellor announced a £5 billion budget. Could 0.05% of that budget be allocated to West Dorset to complete the fibre spine?
The fibre spine project is on the radar of DCMS officials, and I look forward to continuing conversations with my hon. Friend so that we can deliver improvements valuable to his constituents.
