Welcoming the Minister's confirmation of a five-year maximum sentence for animal cruelty, Charalambous expresses concern about enforcement and prosecution. He asks if there will be greater enforcement steps to ensure those committing animal cruelty are brought to justice.
Enforcement is a matter for local police forces, but what we can do in this place is to make sure that the right laws are in place to give them the tools they need to stamp out animal cruelty.
