Chris Matheson Lab
Cardiff South and Penarth
Context
Chris Matheson raises the issue of regulating practitioners of alternative therapies for cancer treatment, citing a constituent's tragic death.
What plans does Jo Churchill have to introduce additional regulations for practitioners of alternative therapies for cancer treatment?
The Government are clear that they will do everything to protect vulnerable people from false advertising of alternative cancer treatments. While there are no plans to regulate complementary therapies, the Cancer Act 1939 prohibits all advertising of cancer services and treatments online or in print. Jo Churchill discusses the issue with her Digital, Culture, Media and Sport colleagues and commits to taking further action needed.
