Successive Conservative Equalities Ministers have repeatedly stalled on publishing the results of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 consultation. Leaked reports suggest potential roll-backs on trans rights, leading to a nearly 40% increase in hate crimes against trans people this year. Does the Secretary of State agree that her delays are fuelling anti-trans sentiment?
We will respond to the consultation over the summer as committed by the Prime Minister. The government is not rolling back the rights of transgender people, ensuring they can live without fear.
