Concern over businesses in Northern Ireland considering moving operations to the Republic of Ireland due to uncertainties.

Question

What discussions has the Minister had with business representatives in Northern Ireland regarding concerns about job transfers to the Republic of Ireland?

Answer from Robin Walker (Minister for the Cabinet Office)

I share respect for the former Secretary of State but there is no need for Northern Ireland businesses to move elsewhere to trade with the UK. The Government will provide unfettered access for Northern Ireland businesses to the UK market, and working together with the Executive we can create strong conditions for recovery making Northern Ireland an excellent place to invest.
