On the day Marcus Rashford highlighted family impoverishment due to coronavirus, does the Minister recognise that many private renters have dependents? Will he immediately bring forward plans to end section-21 evictions?
We are committed to bringing forward legislation to enhance renters' security including abolition of section-21 evictions but will do so safely. In the interim, courts have arrangements to address tenant difficulties and £7 billion has been spent to help people. Private rented sector rents fell by about 1% in recent renewals.
