Context
The A1 road is a critical north-south link in the UK, facing frequent shutdowns due to accidents.
What plans does he have to further develop the A1 from Peterborough to Blyth. The A1 shuts down at least once a week in Rutland and Melton constituency because of accidents. It is a core artery for goods, including Christmas stilton. Will he meet the A1 working group of MPs?
The Government recognise the importance of the A1 as a strategic north-south link. Further improvements will be considered in the National Highways route strategy process. I am delighted to offer her a meeting with my noble Friend the Minister for roads, who would meet her and colleagues.
