The question arises from the need to define which industries will be included in the government's sector visions as part of the Plan for Growth.
What industries his Department is planning to include in the sector visions set out in the Plan for Growth. The Financial Secretary mentioned the tourism and travel sectors, but aerospace remains the top private employer in Belfast East and Northern Ireland, employing over 6,500 people with a turnover of £1.4 billion last year despite difficult conditions.
The Government will consider the role of the state in supporting high-growth sectors, such as those with a comparative advantage like aerospace. The Department is investing heavily in green fuels and electric flights to support the transition to net zero, while also focusing on levelling up.

Context
Following up on the previous question, the MP emphasizes the importance of the aerospace sector in Belfast East and Northern Ireland.
I encourage the Financial Secretary to look favourably upon tourism and travel sectors but from my perspective, aerospace remains the No. 1 private employer in my constituency and across Northern Ireland, employing more than 6,500 people with a turnover of £1.4 billion last year despite difficult conditions. It has high-end manufacturing skills that we cannot lose.
I share his view on the importance of aerospace, especially considering Northern Ireland's comparative advantage. The Government is investing heavily in green fuels and electric flights for a net-zero transition while supporting levelling up efforts.
