What steps her Department is taking to strengthen the UK's defences against cyber-threats. Given that fraud is one of the main purposes of cyber-attack, will the Government take the advice of the Royal United Services Institute to make cyber-security and tackling fraud a national security priority?
My Department is delivering the national cyber strategy 2022 with £2.6 billion, focusing on enhancing skills through the UK Cyber Security Council and ensuring secure tech design. I thank the hon. Gentleman for his serious concern on this issue. We have new powers in place like the National Security and Investment Act 2021, giving us greater oversight of investments. I assure him that I am doing a lot of work in this space.
