Context
The Tory cost of living crisis is affecting pet owners who are unable to afford their pets' care, leading to an increase in animals being surrendered to shelters. A four-year-old domestic short-hair cat named Frasier was recently taken to Battersea by his heartbroken owner due to financial hardship.
I welcome the new Secretary of State to his place and pay tribute to the previous DEFRA team. I saw the consequences of the Tory cost of living crisis during visits to Battersea in London and RSPCA in Newport, where a four-year-old domestic short-hair cat named Frasier was surrendered by his heartbroken owner due to financial hardship. Will the Secretary of State tell us what plan is being implemented to address this issue?
First, the Government will cut people's taxes. We are going to let people keep more of their own money. We are going to ensure that people continue to have great jobs in the economy by incentivising investment in our businesses.
