The question arises from the need to assess the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces against Russian aggression, particularly in terms of their ability to resist invasions and maintain air defenses.
What assessment his Department has made of the effectiveness of Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression. The armed forces have conducted effective ambush and artillery strikes on Russian military convoys and maintained air defences that are limiting Russian air superiority. This is significantly restricting Russia's ability to deploy combat power against Kyiv.

Q2 Direct Answer
Context
The question stems from constituents' requests to support Ukraine in multiple ways including humanitarian aid, welcoming refugees, and military assistance. It follows an initial assessment of the Ukrainian resistance's effectiveness against Russian aggression.
My constituents have told me that they want to see the Government continue to support the Ukrainian resistance in three ways: humanitarian assistance in the region; welcoming refugees here; and military aid. The Ukrainian army is retaking parts of its area from the Russians, so as the need evolves, will he ensure that our support evolves to meet that changing need?
I certainly can assure my hon. Friend that that is the case. We are looking a week, two weeks, two months and three months ahead in order to give the Ukrainians strategic depth and to provide them with the kit we think they will need, not just in the next few days but in three months' time.
