Context
The state pension age equalisation and subsequent increases have affected women born on or after April 6, 1950. The pensions ombudsman concluded that the Government was too slow to inform many women about these changes.
If he will take steps to compensate women born on or after 6 April 1950 affected by changes to the state pension age. Last July, the pensions ombudsman found that the government had been too slow in informing women about these changes, especially during the cost of living crisis, leading many WASPI women to struggle. The issue is frequently raised in my surgeries.
The investigation by the pensions ombudsman is ongoing, so it would not be appropriate to take any further steps at this stage.
