What progress has been made on developing an alternative student finance product for Muslim students? It is estimated that 4,000 Muslim students annually are prevented from entering higher education because no suitable financing exists. Despite initial work under the previous government's commitment, progress seems to have stalled recently.
We remain committed to delivering alternative student finance and are currently considering its implementation as part of the lifelong loan entitlement. We will provide a further update on alternative student finance as part of our response to the LLE consultation, which closed earlier this month.

It is estimated that 4,000 Muslim students annually are prevented from entering higher education because no suitable financing exists. Despite initial work under the previous government's commitment, progress seems to have stalled recently. I am grateful for the Secretary of State's reaffirmation of the Government's commitment to delivering on David Cameron's promise nine years ago, but can he give us an indication of how much longer Muslim students will have to wait?
