We are working closely with the Department of Health and Social Care on reducing youth suicides. We will publish a new suicide prevention strategy this year. I met Mike McCarthy from Baton of Hope when I was Minister for care and mental health, and my successor would welcome its input.

Will she assure the House that the mental health support teams in schools programme will continue and reach every school in the country?
The programme is continuing up to 2024. We are evaluating its success and will put the case forward for continuing the roll-out, as it helps more children access lower-level mental health support such as group sessions and one-to-one help.
