I am concerned about the availability of affordable locally produced food in my constituency. Food security is national security, and local food production is essential. However, our food banks are overwhelmed; West End food bank hands out more than 2,000 food parcels a week but donations have halved due to the cost of living crisis. People in the north-east are poorer under this Conservative Government. We need a plan to address rising farming costs, improve supply chains and target public procurement with decent wages for workers.
