The Government have a range of schemes available for first-time buyers, including the first homes scheme, shared ownership and right to buy. Nearly 900,000 people have been helped on to the property ladder by these initiatives.

What discussions has he had with UK banks, such as Danske Bank in Northern Ireland, to ensure mortgages are accessible for first-time buyers? Are there plans to reintroduce the help-to-buy ISA?
I am grateful for the question. Getting people on the housing ladder is vital, which is why we introduced the mortgage guarantee scheme to extend mortgage availability for first-time buyers. I am happy to discuss other ideas with the hon Gentleman separately.
