Big tech companies want to use songs, recordings and other creative works for AI training without consent or compensation.
Does the Minister agree with the Musicians’ Union that creators should be asked for consent, credited and fairly compensated when their work is used by big tech for AI?
This is one of the most serious issues we have to deal with. The Government wants to support rights holders in licensing their work in the digital age while allowing AI developers to benefit from access to creative material. We are engaging with stakeholders through technical working groups to find a solution that works for both industries.
