What steps she is taking with Cabinet colleagues to help increase prosecution rates in cases of people smuggling. I have worked with the National Crime Agency and in counter-terror roles, witnessing the impact of counter-terror powers. Are you considering using or adapting similar powers for border security?
The Government have set up the Border Security Command to bring together law enforcement agencies and enhance the Crown Prosecution Service's capacity for swift charging decisions. We are learning from our successful counter-terror measures and will create new, stronger powers through a border security bill.
