The Government are committed to improving public health. We consulted on how planning policy could support healthy communities, specifically in tackling childhood obesity. The framework aims for consistent approaches at a local level and we will continue to work with Health colleagues when considering next steps.

In Northern Ireland, we have liaised closely with school principals to prevent pupils accessing takeaway food and addressed litter issues caused by fast food outlets. Might the Minister contact the relevant Northern Ireland Department for insights?
I thank the hon. Gentleman for his question and am willing to contact the Housing Minister from the devolved Northern Ireland Assembly about this specific point to see what lessons we can learn.
